Even if this law weren’t a blatant violation of the United States Constitution, who gets to decide what’s offensive? Are atheists going to be fined because some christian was offended by a bumper sticker saying that you can be good without god? Could someone who accepts reality be fined for displaying an evolution bumper sticker? I think it’s more than a little likely in a backwards state like Tennessee.

Edit: It turns out the billboard was on church property, this changes nothing about my previous comments. Yes they had the legal right to have the billboard taken down, but the fact that they did so still proves that they’re easily offended and that they don’t believe in free speech unless they agree with what is being said. I would understand if the billboard said something like “christians are morons,” but it didn’t say anything like that. That billboard was not an attack on christians, it was a simple statement that atheists exist and that we can be good without god. These people really need to learn to live around people they don’t agree with.
